What a brilliant weekend we had at the observatory. Weather did not do us any favours the first two days, however last night was awesome. We broadcasted on the Night Skies Network through our allskycam and people from all over the world shared in the amazing fireball show. Thanks go to Karl, Lois Kieran and Paul and Amanda for camping out on the site and helping out. Finally thanks to my otherhalf Kim for doing all the “donkey” work getting this event up and running. I was truly humbled by the efforts and response we got, and would like to thank everybody that gave up their spare time to come and support us here at Tolcarn. Here’s to the next event..Watch this space!!
Observatory gearing up for the Perseids meteor shower. Observatory will be open from 1600hrs onwards on Saturday 10th August. Weather looking good, should be a great show.
Solar observations today revealed a quite quiet sun, not much happening on the solar disc.
Scuppered again this evening. The new Takahashi TSA 120mm will have to wait another night to be put through it’s pages.
